Investigation continues in dog attack case in Ogle County

No charges have been filed at this time against the owner of 2 pit bull dogs in Ashton after a Rochelle teacher was attacked earlier this week.

63-year old Aneda Ebert of Ashton remains hospitalized from her injuries.

She was jogging near her home when the animals attacked her. Ebert's husband found her while he was riding his bike.

Ogle County State's Attorney Mike Rock said in a published report that no charges have been filed at this time against the owner of the dogs. He also said that he has not seen the report about the incident.

The attack was investigated by Ogle County Animal Control Administrator Thomas Champley.

There have been no reports of any problems with the 2 dogs in the past. They were impounded after the incident and later put to sleep with the owner's consent.
