2 Rochelle residents are back in court following drug arrest

2 Rochelle residents pled not guilty in Ogle County court yesterday following a drug bust that took place earlier this month in the Hub City.

32-year old Juan Olguin and 23-year old Ashley Jones have both been charged with the Class "X" felony offense of unlawful possession with the intent to deliver cocaine. Olguin has also been charged with the Class 3 felony of unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon.

The drug arrest took place during the early morning hours of July 11th at 107 7th Avenue, Apartment #9. Police seized over 30 grams of cocaine with a street value of several thousand dollars along with 3 handguns and money.

In court yesterday, both Olguin and Jones waived their preliminary hearings and demanded a jury trial. They return to court on September 8th for pre-trial conferences.

Olguin got out of jail yesterday after he posted 10 percent of a $50,000 bond. It had been set at $250,000, but was reduced by an Ogle County judge on Wednesday.

Jones is also out of jail following the posting of 10 percent of a $10,000 bond. That number was originally set at $50,000.
