No agreement yet on cement company's move in Hillcrest

Village officials in Hillcrest met in special session last night as the discussion included pending litigation on the new location for Regional Ready Mix..

During a board meeting earlier this month, it was announced that the cement company had agreed to move to their new site by September 1st. Regional Ready Mix is currently located in the 400 block of River Road. Their new location will be near the intersection of Illinois 251 North and Lind Road.

A representative from Julep Arbor Farms was the only person that still needed to sign off on the changes in the annexation agreement. A sales tax abatement is tied into the company's move. It's an 8-year agreement at 50%.

No action was taken by the board following the closed meeting last night.

Hillcrest officials did not have their budget workshop yesterday evening. The internet was down at the Village Hall Building yesterday and the board did not have the updated numbers for the new fiscal year. They plan to hold another special meeting next Wednesday at 7 to talk about the budget.

The village does have around $30,000 left over in motor fuel tax money following repairs on the streets this summer. The money may be used for street work in 2015 or in the purchase of a new salt shed for storage. No final decisions were made last night.
