A company from Naperville wants more money from Ogle County to complete their examination of the tow fee fund involving the sheriff's department.
Last May, Sikich LLP was hired at a cost of $7,500 to look into the tow fee fund from 2012 to the present. The new figure could reach as high as another $7,500 to complete their work.
Ogle County Board Chairman Kim Gouker of Byron said that the records were disorganized and that there has been no preliminary report completed. He said interview still need to be done and that no final decisions have been made from the information gathered by the company at this time.
The vote was 19-3 in favor of the additional money for the project.
The county is looking for a new Emergency Management Agency Assistant Coordinator as Candance Humphrey has resigned. Wendy Howarter of Oregon has also resigned from the Mental Health 708 Board as she plans to move out of Ogle County.
The board also gave Chevron Energy Solutions Company based in Kansas City to go ahead to move foward in putting together an assessment proposal on the current facilities. There will be no cost for the county.
Jacob Kocourek of Stillman Valley also plans to raise money for new playground equipment at Weld Park as part of his Eagle Scout project. He is looking at $20,000 for the equipment.
The kids park will be named after Alec Catherwood of Byron who died while protecting this country in Afghanistan in October of 2010. Weld Park was 1 of Alec's favorite places to visit while he grew up in Byron.
The board also approved a special use permit dealing with a shop for minor repair work on vehicles and the sale of firearms at 5866 North Stillman Road in rural Stillman Valley.
