The future of the Lincoln Highway Heritage Festival remains up in the air at the present time.
Last weekend, thousands of people attended the 17th annual event which lasted 3 days in downtown Rochelle. Area residents enjoyed the music, food, and the Sunday parade along with the other activities.
As 1st reported on Newstalk 1060, the festival needs more volunteers and sponsorship for 2015. During yesterday's program "Let The People Know", Mayor Chet Olson talked about the issue during the show. He said the city needs more sponsorships from businesses and volunteers in the future. He said the festival is very important for residents in Rochelle
Mayor Olson also said that the city is looking at other events throughout the year to attract people to the Hub City.
"Let The People Know" is heard on Wednesday afternoons at 12:30 on Newstalk 1060 and rebroadcast Saturday mornings at 6 on Newstalk 1060 and Sunday morning at 6 on "The Coyote".
