Charges will not be filed against a Rockford man in connection with a murder which took place in 1993.
Winnebago County Sheriff's Police once again looked into the death of 15-year old Stephanie Johnston. No arrest has been made in the case.
Authorities were checking to see if 36-year old Terence Doddy of Rockford could be involved in the killing of his classmate. Doddy was arrested earlier this summer in the murder of a Rockford man and the killing of a former Sterling woman who lived in Monticello.
Johnston was found in the Rock River near Rockton in December of 1993. The cause of death was drowning. The manner has yet to be determined.
Police looked into the death of the teen again due to the recent arrest of Doddy in the 2 others murders.
No new information has come about in the case.
