Residents in Rochelle can start picking up petitions for the next city election starting today. The documents will be in the City Clerk's office at the Municipal Building.
Positions on the ballot include for Rochelle Mayor and 3 Council members.
As 1st reported in June, Mayor Chet Olson will run for a 4th term in office. His 3rd term comes to an end on April 30th, 2015.
Councilmen terms that also come to an end next April includes Dennis Berg, Ed Rice, and Bil Hayes. Berg has told Newstalk 1060 that he will not run for another term in office.
The Consolidated Election in Rochelle will be held on April 7th. If necessary, a Primary Election will be held on February 24th of next year.
The city will have a Primary Election if there are 4 or more candidates for Mayor or 12 or more candidates for Council positions.
Candidates can start filing their petitions no earlier than 8am on November 17th and no later than November 24th at 5pm.
