Officials say that more than 1,000 jobs need to be filled before the Thomson prison opens.
The hiring process begins this week.
The federal bureau of prisons will hold a job fair at the facility starting tomorrow and running through Thursday. Positions include inmate custody and programs, support and administration, along with health care.
Close to 300 people will be hired during the 1st phase which begins with the job fair this week. Another 800 openings will be filled in the next hiring phase.
