Mother Nature is putting a damper on harvesting efforts across the state. According to the USDA, Illinois corn growers have only taken about two-percent of their crop from the fields, thanks to above average rain fall and below average temperatures last week. The corn seems to be in great shape though, the crop report rates about half the corn as good and 31-percent as excellent. Illinois farmers are expected to produce about two-point-three-billion bushels of corn this year.
