Rochelle Township High School Superintendent Jamie Craven
Enrollment increased by 35 students this fall at Rochelle Township High School as the numbers were talked about last night during the board meeting. This fall, 957 students attend RTHS.
With a big 8th grade class to feed into RTHS next year, the enrollment figure will be over 1,000 students for a couple of years.
Superintendent Jamie Craven said that the numbers will increase for the district for a few years due to a big 8th grade class that will feed into RTHS next fall.
The annual Veteran's Day program this year will include a breakfast for local vets on 8am. There will also be an all-school assembly as the guest speaker will be RTHS graduate Bob Chadwick who also was in the Air Force.
Work is schedule to be done in the near future on the transportation facility where the buses are parked. The 2 structures were built in 1971 and 1974.
The 1st repairs will be done on the roof and outside walls.
The district also plans to upgrade the restroom, break room, along with the office for the transportation director.
The total project could cost between 300 to 600,000 dollars.
The tuition rate was set at just under $12,370. There are no students at this time attending RTHS outside the district.
The board met in executive session for about a half hour. No action was taken.
