The Illinois Tollway is taking more scofflaws to court. As many as four-hundred lawsuits have been filed in the past two years against chronic toll-skippers with about seven-hundred-16-thousand-dollars collected. The latest batch of suits names 47 scofflaws who owe a total of two-hundred-thousand-dollars for violations dating back to 2005. The largest violator in this group is an Inverness company that owes more than 69-thousand-dollars in tolls and penalties. The Tollway files suits only after sending violators at least five notices and following up with phone calls.
