There will be no primary in Rochelle next year for the Consolidated Election.
Only 6 residents filed petitions for the local race. There will be contested races for both Mayor and the 3 Council positions that are open.
Mayor Chet Olson is facing a challenge from Aaron Brooks. Olson is looking for a 4th term in office.
The 4 candidates who filed for council include incumbents Ed Rice and Bil Hayes along with Tom McDermott and Don Burke. The top 3 in votes will be council members.
There had to be 5 or more candidates for Mayor or 13 or more candidates for Council for a primary election to happen on February 24th, 2015.
The Consolidated Election will be held on April 7th of next year.
