Focus House in Ogle County is celebrating their 40th Anniversary this year as they help area teens turn their lives around.
The program started in 1975 for boys and girls who have gotten in trouble with the police. They average around 25 teens at their facilities from Ogle County and the surrounding area.
Focus House Director Matt Mekeel said that it's nice to talk with some of the original people who put this program together 40 years ago.
He was a guest yesterday on the program "Let The People Know". Mekeel said that the individuals who started Focus House may be surprised with their current facilities and programs.
A 40th Anniversary event is scheduled for later this year in Rochelle. Focus House will also hold their 14th annual spaghetti supper and silent auction on April 15th from 4 until 7:30 at their facility north of Rochelle.
"Let The People Know" is heard on Wednesday afternoons at 12:30 on Newstalk 1060 and rebroadcast Saturday mornings at 6 on Newstalk 1060 and Sunday morning at 6 on "The Coyote".
