The 141st Commencement Ceremony at Rochelle Township High School was held Saturday morning as more than 2,000 people attended the event. It was also heard on Newstalk 1060 and wrhl.net.
There were a total of 217 students during the ceremony receiving their diploma. The Class of 2015 is now part of over 10,000 graduates from RTHS.
This year's Valedictorian is Lauren Murphy while the Salutatorian is Aaron Mehrings.
The ceremony also included the handing out of the Carney R's to the top 3 students in the class. This award has been given out since 1932.
The gold award went to Murphy while the silver award to Mehrings and the bronze award to Ryan Plyman.
The response for the Class of 2015 came from Kevin Christensen.
This is the 10th consecutive year that the RTHS Commencement Ceremony has been held indoors in the main gymnasium.
