Illinois is one step away from reducing the punishment for low-level marijuana offenses. The State Senate approved a bill yesterday that would require individuals caught possessing up to 15-grams of the drug to be issued a ticket rather than face a larger fine or jail time. It isn't known when or if Governor Rauner will sign the measure into law.
