New figures from the U.S. Census Bureau are indicating that the third biggest city in the state is losing more people than any other in Illinois. Census data provided to Northern Illinois University's Center for Governmental Studies reveal that Rockford's population has had the largest decrease in the state from 2010 to 2014. School officials say if the trend continues, Rockford will be surpassed in population by both Joliet and Naperville.
