Ogle County officials receive lab results from fatal crash this summer

Ogle County officials expect to make a decision within the next 2 weeks on what charges will be filed in a vehicle crash that claimed the life of a Kings teen.

19-year old Anna Speed, a 2014 graduate of Rochelle Township High School and who had just finished her 1st year at the University of Northern Iowa, was pronounced dead at the scene on June 10th.

The accident took place in the 18,000 block of East Gillis Road, northeast of Creston. A 2004 Jeep driven by 19-year old Emily Jahnke of Rochelle was traveling eastbound and left the north side of the road. The jeep then struck a utility pole.

Jahnke along with a front passenger in the vehicle, 19-year old Anna Craven of Rochelle, were ejected from the jeep. Both received treatment of non-life threatening injuries at area hospitals.

During yesterday's program "Let The People Know", Ogle County State's Attorney Eric Morrow said that they have received all of the results from the state crime lab involving the accident.

He said that tickets from the crash are under consideration at this time. They plan to talk with the families in the near future.

"Let The People Know" is heard on Wednesday afternoon at 12:30 on Newstalk 1060 and rebroadcast Saturday morning at 6 on Newstalk 1060 and Sunday morning at 6 on "The Coyote".
