City officials in Rochelle are considering some changes in the future dealing with parking restrictions on certain streets in the community.
The issue deals with streets that are 31 feet in width and allow parking on both sides of the pavement.
There could be problems if an emergency vehicle such as a fire truck needs to respond to a call at a home.
During this week's program "Let The People Know", Rochelle Mayor Chet Olson talked about the problem. He said many streets in the community fall under this issue dealing with parking on both sides of the street.
He said that he would rather have a separate case on each street than making changes throughout the entire city at 1 time. Any complaints would be handled in that way.
The Rochelle City Council plans to talk about the parking proposal on Brookside Drive Monday night.
"Let The People Know" is heard on Wednesday afternoon at 12:30 on Newstalk 1060 and rebroadcast Saturday morning at 6 on Newstalk 1060 and Sunday morning at 6 on "The Coyote".
Next week's guest will be Flagg-Rochelle Community Park District Executive Director Roger Bunger.
