Bonuses given to non-union state workers

Governor Bruce Rauner's administration is giving millions of dollars in bonuses to non-union workers. The one-time bonuses are being distributed to about eleven-hundred employees worth just over three-thousand-dollars each.

A memo sent by the Department of Central Management Services indicates the last across-the-board increase for non-union employees was in 2005.

This comes as negotiations with the state's largest public employee union on a new contract have been at a standstill since the beginning of the year.
