City officials in Rochelle appear to be satisfied with economic growth for the past 12 months and what looks ahead for 2017.
During yesterday's program "Let The People know", Gredco Director Jason Anderson talked about some of the projects that have been completed in 2016.
Rochelle Foods just completed a 40 million expansion of their bacon operations. This included 120 additional jobs.
Mightyvine also opened their second greenhouse while Brightfarms began their operations on the south side of town.
Anderson also talked about the expansion of the city railroad for 2017. The 7 million dollars project is expected to bring in more industries in the future. Grant money will be used to pay for some of the costs.
Anderson also said that several other current businesses in Rochelle have talked about expanding their facilities during the next 12 months.
