A Davis Junction man pled guilty in Ogle County court on Friday after being arrested on 2 counts of the Class "X" felony offense of aggravated battery of a child.
The victim was a 3 month old baby at the time of the incident.
Ogle County Sheriff's Police arrested 31-year old Jeffrey Hinson as the child suffered 2 fractured legs and multiple bruises.
Authorities received word on February 25th of last year that the child was being treated at a Rockford hospital. Detectives learned that the incident took place at a home in Davis Junction. Hinson, formerly of Alabama, was arrested a short time later.
He was sentenced yesterday to 30 months probation along with 180 days in jail. He was given credit of the 239 days he served in jail following a violation of an order of protection.
Hinson must also cooperate with counseling along with register as a violent offender against youth.
