City officials in Rochelle approved a settlement tonight with a former employee after a lawsuit had been filed.
The agreement totals $437,500 involving former Human Resource Director Lynette Fischer who was fired in 2014 after 7 years with the city.
The city's total in the settlement will be $87,500 or 1 year severance pay. The Illinois Municipal League Risk Managment will pay the rest of the settlement amount.
Fischer said in the lawsuit that she was fired after disclosing examples of wrongdoings for city council members.
The alleged incidents took place in June of 2013 and April of 2014.
The council approved the settlement following an executive session. Absent from tonight's meeting was Mayor Chet Olson along with Councilwoman Kathy Hollonbeck
