Bond has been set at $250,000 for a Rochelle man following a drug bust last Friday in the Hub City.
22-year old Cruz Villarreal has been charged with 2 counts of the Class 2 felony offense of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, hydrocodone and alprazolam, within 1,000 feet of a church. He was also charged with the felony offense of unlawful possession with the intent to deliver cannabis along with possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor offense.
Villarreal lives in the 900 block of North 15th Street. The State Line Area Narcotics Team along with the Rochelle Police Department and Ogle County Sheriff's Police executed a search warrant at his home. They seized 185 pills of alprazolam, 9 pills of hydrocodone, along with 82 grams of cannabis and marijuana related products.
Villarreal appears before a judge today in Oregon for a hearing. He remains in jail in lieu of bond.
If found guilty of the felony charges, Villarreal could face between 2 to 7 years in prison.
