A Rockford doctor accused of sexually abusing patients is heading to prison for Medicare fraud. Dr. Charles DeHaan was sentenced yesterday to nine years and ordered to pay two-point-seven-million-dollars in restitution.
Federal prosecutors claim the doctor billed Medicare nearly six-million-dollars for services he never performed from 2010 to 2013. DeHaan is awaiting trial in Cook County on allegations he sexually abused three disabled or elderly people in Winnebago County.
