The property is currently zone for agriculture.
Hardt said during the hearing that she sells around 100 puppies per month. She plans to keep the business in Clare while also running the operations in Ogle County.
Hardt said there could be as many as 115 dogs at the Dutch Road kennel.
The special use permit request will now go before the Planning and Zoning Committee on May 9th. The Ogle County board plans to hear the issue during their meeting on May 16th.
