Area residents are cleaning up this morning following thunderstorms with high winds last night and early this morning.
The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning last night for Lee and Ogle counties at around 10. There was a report of a tornado in the Dixon area, but it appears that it did not touch down on the ground.
RMU was kept busy in Rochelle last night as they responded to several reports of power lines down due to tree limbs. There were a number of electrical outages.
The most severe damage from high winds took place in the Mt. Morris and Polo areas due to the storm along with Winnebago and Poplar Grove.
There were no reports of any serious injuries from the high winds last night or early this morning.
