2 Dixon residents suffered injuries yesterday morning following an alcohol related crash in Lee County.
Illinois State Police report that the accident took place at around 11:30 on Route 2, just east of Plock Road.
A car driven by 48-year old Susan Emmole was traveling eastbound on Route 2 at a high rate of speed and struck the back of a vehicle driven by 62-year old Steven Moreno.
Emmole was ejected from her car. She was transported by helicopter from the scene to a Rockford Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
Moreno was also taken by ambulance to KSB Hospital in Dixon.
State Police say that Emmole was arrested on the charge of DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol, along with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and not wearing her seatbelt.
The crash remains under investigation.
