A Hillcrest man was arrested on an alcohol offense last night following a single vehicle accident on I-39, just south of Lindenwood Road.
Reports indicate that 30-year old Paul Martinez was traveling northbound in his 1999 Chevy Lumina at a high rate of speed when the vehicle struck a bridge parapet wall.
Martinez lost control of the vehicle as he traveled into the median and rolled over several times before coming to rest in the southbound lanes of I-39.
Martinez was transported by ambulance to Rochelle Community with minor injuries.
He was arrested on the charge of DUI and driving on a suspended license.
The crash remains under investigation.
