A Sterling teen suffered fatal injuries yesterday afternoon following a 2-vehicle crash in rural Polo.
Pronounced dead at the scene was 18-year old Stevie Thomas.
Ogle County Sheriff's Police report that the crash took place a short time after 4 at the intersection of Route 26 and Henry Road. Thomas was traveling westbound on Henry Road and failed to stop at the intersection.
A collision occurred with a northbound vehicle driven by 42-year old Klint Singley of Polo. Traffic on Route 26 at this intersection do not have to stop.
Following the crash, both cars came to a stop in the westbound ditch.
Singley was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
A 16-year old girl from Dixon was a front passenger in Thomas' car. She was transported by ambulance to KSB Hospital in Dixon for treatment of her injuries which appear to be non-life threatening at this time.
The accident remains under investigation by Ogle County Sheriff's Police.
