Village officials in Hillcrest heard a presentation this evening from engineer Jim Sparber dealing with improvements in the water system. The proposal included a new 200,000 gallon water tower along with a new well and well house.
Cost of the storage tank would be $720,000 while the well and building would have a price tag of $540,000. Board President Steve Dodson...(Time: (:11), out: here).
Residents would see their water bill increase by 18 dollars a month if the village did both projects.The village would also get a 20 or 30 year loan from the Illinois EPA. Dodson stressed that they need to get more water pressure in the system.....

The board took no action on the water projects tonight.
Village officials did approve $143,000 for the street maintenance program. There will be 12 locations in the village where patch and seal coat work will be done.
The new appropriation was introduced which totals just over $866,000. The increase from a year ago is $150,650 due to payments for the sanitary sewer project.
The village also plans to update their ordinance dealing with poor conditions involving properties in Hillcrest. This includes cars, boats, and campers that have not moved in months along with high weeds and grass. Fines will be issued against property owners in the future.
The intergovernmental agreement was also approved between Hillcrest and White Rock Township for snow removal on Bethel and Kent Roads.
The board met in executive session for nearly an hour and a half to talk about personnel and pending litigation. No action was taken.
