The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that weather permitting, construction work on Route 72 from Stillman Valley to I-39 will be starting today.
Rock Road Companies will be making improvements to the 8 mile section of IL 72. The $2.8 million project includes making pavement repairs and resurfacing the roadway. Sidewalk work to install ADA compliance sidewalk ramps in Davis Junction will also be completed.
There will be lane closures during working hours while the improvements are being completed. Drivers should be prepared to stop for flaggers who will be directing traffic past the construction operations.
