A former Rochelle man is back on the streets today after being arrested in a sexual assault case.
37-year old Benjamin Meyer of Belvidere has been charged with 4 counts of the Class "X" felony offense of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child.
Meyer was arrested last week by Ogle County Sheriff's Police following an investigation that began on September 3rd. He allegedly had sexual contact with minors in the Rochelle area.
In court Monday, an Ogle County judge reduced bond from $500,000 to $200,000. Meyer was able to post 10 percent of that figure and was released from jail.
Bond conditions include no contact with the victims or minors along with wearing a GPS monitoring device.
Meyer is scheduled to return to court on September 27th for a preliminary hearing. At that time, he will plead guilty or innocent to the felony charges.
