Sources say T-Mobile is close to agreeing to tentative terms on a deal that would involve a merge with Sprint. Reuters reports that two of the sources said Friday that Japan's SoftBank will own 40 to 50 percent of the combined company.
Japan's Softbank currently controls Sprint. Deutsche Telekom, which is T-Mobile's owner, will own a majority stake. The sources don't want to be identified because the negotiations are confidential. A deal is expected by the end of October, though sources say talks could still fall through.
