The Department of Homeland Security says it's contacting states that were targeted by Russian hackers in last year's election. Earlier this year, the DHS said they had evidence of the hacking but didn't inform the states involved.
State election officials were finally told Friday. Several states, including Arizona, Alabama, Washington and Wisconsin have all confirmed they were among the states targeted. The DHS said only a few state's voting systems were successfully breached, and none of those involved vote counting.
