It's "National Fire Prevention Week" as this year's theme is to have 2 ways to get out of your home in case their is a fire at the residence.
During yesterday's program "Let The People Know", Rochelle Fire Chief Dave Sawlsville said that a family should practice getting out of their home during an emergency.
They should also have a location outside the residence where they should meet in case of a fire. This will help firemen know is anyone is still in the home.
Sawlsville also said that a family or person should have an alternative route to get out of their home or apartment in case of flames or smoke.
"Let The People Know" is heard on Wednesday afternoon at 12:30 on Good Time Oldies 1060 and rebroadcast Saturday morning at 6:30 on WRHL and Sunday morning at 6:30 on The Coyote.
