No injuries were reported this week after a Rockford school bus was hit by gunfire.
The shooting took place on Wednesday afternoon near the intersection of 5th Avenue and 5th Street.
School officials say that there was around 2 dozen students on the bus when it was hit by gunfire. The bus continued its route after the incident.
The bus driver was not aware that the vehicle was struck. A bullet was found in the under carriage on Thursday.
Parents were also notified about the incident on Thursday.
Rockford police say that individuals in 2 vehicles exchanged gunfire in the area of the bus. They say that the school bus was not the intended target.
