A Polo man was sentenced to 7 years in the Department of Corrections on Friday after he plead guilty to the Class 2 felony offense of attempted residential arson.
33-year old Johnthon Parker was arrested this past spring.
Authorities say that Parker tried to set the house on fire which he was living in on East Mason Street in Polo this past April. An accelerate was found on the floors, but did not ignite.
A motive behind the incident is unknown at this time by police.
Parker was also sentenced to a couple of years of mandatory superviced release and he must pay fines and court costs that total $761.
