Teachers in Rockford are one step closer to walking out of their classrooms. The Rockford Education Association last night voted down the latest contract offer from Rockford schools.
The sticking point seems to be the cost of health insurance. Right now teachers pay a fixed price, school leaders want teachers to pay a percentage which could mean they'd pay more. If the two sides can't come together, teachers say they may look at a strike.
