It appears the City of Rochelle will be getting another truck stop in the near future.
Loves Travel Stops and Country Store Incorporated is scheduled to develop 17 acres of land south of I-88.
The company has asked the city during a Planning and Zoning Commission meeting on December 4th for a variance of off street parking, the municipal sign ordinance, along with zoning and annexation into Rochelle.
Loves Travel Stops and Country Stores is a North American family-owned chain of more than 430 truck stop and convenience stores in 41 states.
The company is privately owned and headquartered in Oklahoma.
Traffic signals are also needed at the intersection of Illinois 251 and Steward Road for the project.
