A former Rochelle man is back in jail after being arrested in a sexual assault case.
38-year old Benjamin Meyer of Belvidere has been charged with 4 counts of the Class "X" felony offense of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child.
Meyer was arrested by Ogle County Sheriff's Police in September. He allegedly had sexual contact with minors in the Rochelle area.
Meyer had posted 10 percent of a $200,000 bond and was out of jail. The state filed a motion to increase his bond to $500,000 which was approved by a judge in court yesterday.
Ogle County officials alleged that he had contact with an individual in violation of his bond conditions.
Meyer has also discharged his attorney and is representing himself in the case.
He returns to court on December 18th for a pre-trial conference.
