Rochelle police continue to investigate counterfeit money being distributed in the Hub City this week.
On Monday, police received 2 counterfeit 50 dollar bills deposited at a local bank.
The 2 bills had the same serial numbers and did not contain the security strip, water mark, or color shifting that appears on US currency.
On Tuesday, a fake 100 dollar bill showed up in another bank deposit.
Police say that the counterfeit bill was determined to be "Movie Money". The bill states "For
Motion Picture Purposes" and has no security features required in today's US currency.
Attempting to represent the money as actual US currency for payment would be considered fraud.
No arrest has been made at this time by Rochelle police.
