Park officials in Rochelle approved $860,000 in general obligation bonds last night for several projects that will be completed in 2018.
They include upgrades for the Spring Lake pool and marina, new fences for the Little League facility, along with improving the field at the AYSO complex and a storage shed.
Park District Executive Director Roger Bunger said the capital committee have met with organizations who use the facilities to see what improvements need to be made
Bunger said that the board continues to improve facilities for all ages enjoy. Their goal is to be 100% ADA compliant during the next 5 years.
The board approved the bid of $35,415 from Innovative Construction of Rochelle for the ADA improvements at the Spring Lake Marina. This includes work in the rest rooms and kitchen areas.
The project should begin on February 11th and completed by April 6th.
Park officials are also looking at replacing the peer at Spring Lake which is used for fishing.
