Local schools across the state of Illinois will decide for themselves how to deal with students who walk out of class as part of the national protest for gun control today.
Students across the country are set to walk out at 10 a.m. local time to protest last month's shootings in Florida. Some Illinois schools are allowing their students to walk out for 17 minutes, others are planning assemblies, some are telling students to stay put.
Students at Rochelle Township High School have scheduled an event each day this week to show their support behind the students and staff at the Florida high school.
