A Davis Junction man died from blunt trauma to his chest following an accident Wednesday morning at the Orchard Hills Landfill located in Ogle County.
48-year old John Overstreet was pronounced dead at the scene after he was pinned between a semi-tractor and trailer.
Ogle County Sheriff's Police report that Overstreet was at the rear of his trailer removing his tarp between his trailer and another semi-tractor that was parked behind him.
The driver of the second semi-tractor from Elmwood Park had stopped his semi and exited the cab area to take his tarp off his trailer.
Police say that the truck started to roll forward and pinned Overstreet between the trailer.
An autopsy was performed on the body yesterday. The incident remains under investigation.
