Rockford man pleads not guilty in charter bus shooting

A Rockford man pleaded not guilty in Winnebago County court yesterday following a shooting that took place in a private charter bus last weekend which left 3 people dead.

22-year old Raheem King turned himself in to police on Wednesday as he was wanted on 4 counts of first-degree murder.

The shooting took place early Saturday morning as King allegedly used an assault rifle to kill the 3 Rockford men, ages 27,22, and 21.

The motive behind the shooting has not been made public at this time by police.

King's girlfriend, 21-year old Lakeacia Kizart of Rockford, also turned herself in to police on Wednesday on the charge of concealing or aiding a fugitive. Bond was set at 1 million dollars.

No bond has been set for King. He returns to court for a hearing on May 17th in Rockford.
