Teen injured after being struck by a semi in Ogle County

A 17-year old boy suffered serious injuries this morning after he was struck by a semi truck in rural Oregon.

Ogle County Sheriff's Police along with the Oregon Police Department responded to the incident a short time after 1:30am in the 26 hundred block of West Pines Road.

The semi truck struck the teen who was a pedestrian.

The boy was transported to a Rockford hospital with life threatening injuries.

The driver of the semi, 21-year old Dakota Snyder of Mt. Morris, was taken to KSB Hospital in Dixon for treatment.

The accident remains under investigation by Ogle County Sheriff's Police.
