A ground breaking ceremony was held yesterday for the Rockford Christian Schools for their 16 million dollar expansion project. It includes a 4-story residence hall along with a fine arts center and an indoor fitness and recreation center.
The 200 bed residence hall will be done by the fall of 2019. It will be able to handle 200 U.S. and international students.
Rockford Christian is looking at expanding their enrollment in the future. They currently have just over 11 hundred students from pre-K through 12th grade. That's about 6 percent lower than it was a decade ago.
Tuition for the middle school and high school students this year was $7,732.
