A Pecatonica man escaped serious injuried early yesterday morning following an alcohol related single vehicle crash in rural Byron. The accident took place a short time before 3am.
A car driven by 30-year old Ryan Hertzner was traveling southbound on Conger Road and failed to stop at the intersection with Montague Road.
Hertzner's car left the pavement and into a ditch.
He was transported by ambulance to a Rockford hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Hertzner was arrested on the charge of DUI along with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and improper lane usage. He also received tickets for no valid driver's license, failure to wear a seat belt, and having no insurance.
