Oregon’s June 16 Rockin’ River Fest will bring out the best of the beast in you. If you’re a runner, biker, canoer or kayaker then you shouldn’t miss the Rock River Adventure Tri. Participants will run along the riverfront on the Rock River, climb the stairs at Blackhawk Statue, run through the park then circle back to Park east where you pick you your bike and ride a 10 mile an adventurous trail. The third leg of the competition will be a 5 mile canoe or kayak race. The race will be professionally timed.
Maybe you’re not the triathlon type and that’s ok! We have something else in store that will test your strength and stamina. The “Tug Across the Rock” is competition between teams on each side of the Rock River. The challenge is to see which team can pull the 1800 foot that spans the width of the river the greatest distance. Defending Champs from E.D. Etnyre and Company are ready to defend their title and Etnyre President, Pat O’Brien has put out the challenge to bring it on! Teams must be co-ed and may have up to 15 pullers on a team with the total team weight not to exceed 3600 pounds. Entries are limited to 12 teams and will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. The final due date for team entries is June 1.
If you just don’t get into all the challenging physical competition, then our “Toss’em Tourney” might just be the event for you. This bags competition will begin at 4 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded to the Top 3 teams.
Entry forms for all competitive events are available on the website www.rockinriverfest.net
