The Ogle County board met in monthly session yesterday evening with only a few items on the agenda.
They approve pay increases for 3 local officials following the General Election in November. The positions are Sheriff, Clerk and Recorder, and Treasurer.
The salary increase will be 1 1/2 percent each year in the first 2 years of the proposal. It will go to 2 percent in the 3rd year and 2 1/2 percent for the 4th year.
The pay increase begins December 1st.
The county plans to vacate 6th street in Oregon as part of the new jail project. The proposal was introduced last night and is scheduled to be approved during the June meeting.
Appointments last night included Tom Smith of Rochelle to the Civic Center Authority board and James Hess to the Byron Museum District.
The board also approved the resignation of Mark Hayes of Kings to the Zoning Board of Appeals.
